Alliance Laundry Systems was formed in February 1998 when private equity firm Bain Capital acquired the commercial laundry business from Raytheon for $358 million. The company traces its heritage to 1908, when Joe Barlow and John Seelig founded Barlow & Seelig Manufacturing in Ripon, Wisconsin. In 1922, Speed Queen was the first company to introduce washers with nickel-copper tubs. The Speed Queen brand name itself was created in 1928.
Today, Alliance Laundry Systems serves more than 140 countries with a team of more than 3,500 employees. The company operates five distinct brands, each designed for different market segments and customer needs.
