Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 August 2026
National Appliance Repairs ("National Appliance Repairs," "we," "us," or "our") repairs domestic and commercial appliances across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you call, book, or use nationalappliancerepairs.com.au, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.
We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) set out in that Act. If you have questions this policy doesn't answer, contact us using the details at the end.
Information we collect
We collect the information needed to book a technician, quote a repair, and follow up on the job. Depending on how you interact with us, this can include:
- Contact details: name, phone number, email address, and service address.
- Booking and repair information: appliance type, brand and model, the fault you describe, technician notes, photos of the appliance if you send them, and repair or warranty history.
- Payment information: payment method and transaction details for the service call. We do not store full card numbers; card payments are processed through our payment provider, not held on our own systems.
- Communications: call recordings or notes from our booking line, emails, and any messages you send through our website or contact forms.
- Website usage data: pages viewed, browser type, device type, and general location (city-level), collected automatically through analytics and cookies. See the Cookies section below.
We collect this directly from you when you call to book a repair, fill in a form on our site, or speak with a technician. We don't buy personal information from third-party data brokers.
Why we collect and use it
We use personal information to:
- Schedule and carry out appliance repairs, including dispatching the right technician with the right parts.
- Provide quotes, confirm approval before parts or labour costs are incurred, and issue invoices.
- Honour warranty claims (12 months on parts, 3 months on labour) by matching a new call to a past job.
- Respond to enquiries and follow up on service issues.
- Send booking confirmations, appointment reminders, and service-related updates.
- With your consent, send occasional service reminders or promotional offers. You can opt out at any time (see Direct Marketing below).
- Improve our website and service based on aggregated usage patterns.
- Meet legal and accounting obligations, including tax record-keeping.
We only use personal information for the purpose it was collected for, or a purpose you'd reasonably expect given that context.
Who we share it with
We disclose personal information only where it's necessary to deliver the service or where the law requires it:
| Recipient | Why |
|---|---|
| Technicians and service vans | To attend the job, diagnose the fault, and complete the repair |
| Payment processing provider | To process service call and repair payments |
| Booking, scheduling, or CRM software providers | To manage appointments and job records |
| IT and website hosting providers | To operate our booking systems and website |
| Manufacturers or parts suppliers | Only where needed to source a specific part or validate a manufacturer warranty |
| Regulators, courts, or law enforcement | Where we are legally required to disclose information |
We do not sell personal information to third parties, and we do not share it with unrelated marketing companies. Some of the service providers above may store or process information on servers located outside Australia. Where that's the case, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Direct marketing
If we send you service reminders or promotional messages, every message includes a way to opt out (an unsubscribe link in emails, or you can tell us directly by phone or email). Once you opt out, we stop sending marketing communications, though we may still contact you about an active booking or unresolved warranty matter.
Cookies and website analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to remember basic preferences and to understand how visitors use the site, for example, which pages are viewed most and how visitors found us. This data is generally aggregated and doesn't identify you personally. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some site features may not work as intended if you do.
Data security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, including restricting access to booking and customer records to staff who need it to do their job. We retain job and customer records for as long as needed to honour warranties, meet tax and accounting obligations, and resolve any disputes, after which records are securely deleted or de-identified.
No online system is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute protection of information transmitted over the internet.
Access and correction
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it's wrong or out of date. To do this, contact us using the details below. We'll respond within a reasonable timeframe and won't charge for a straightforward request. In some cases, the Privacy Act allows us to decline access, in which case we'll explain why.
Complaints
If you believe we've mishandled your personal information, contact us first so we can investigate and respond. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it was last revised. Continued use of our services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
