About Bodum

Bodum was founded in 1944 by Peter Bodum in Copenhagen, Denmark, as a kitchenware and tableware company. The company moved to Switzerland in 1978 under the leadership of Peter's son, Jørgen Bodum, and is headquartered in Triengen, Switzerland. Bodum's design philosophy emphasizes that "good design has to be functional and affordable" while maintaining Scandinavian minimalism and sustainability.

The company became famous in the 1950s with vacuum coffee makers (SANTOS, MOCCA), and gained iconic status in 1974 with the launch of the Bistro French press, later developed into the classic Chambord after acquiring Martin S.A. in 1991. Bodum acquired a small clarinet factory in Normandy in 1982 specifically to maintain artisanal production standards for their French presses, ensuring the same painstaking craftsmanship from those proud Normandy craftsmen.

Today, Bodum operates globally with products available in over 130 countries, emphasizing environmental responsibility and sustainable manufacturing practices.
