Asko Dishwashers & Washing Machines Repair | National Appliance Repairs
Asko is Swedish engineering with Scandinavian minimalism. A young farmer named Karl-Erik Andersson built the first washing machine in 1950 to ease his mother's burden. Seventy-five years later, Asko dishwashers and washing machines are refined through decades of European innovation. Quattro Construction™ shock absorbers. Steel Seal™ technology eliminating rubber seals. Super Cleaning System™ on dishwashers. Energy-efficient, durable, and designed to blend into any kitchen.
When an Asko dishwasher stops cleaning or leaks, dishes pile up. When a washing machine won't drain or spin, laundry backs up. We've been repairing Asko appliances for 15+ years. We understand Swedish engineering and how these machines are built to last.
About Asko Appliances
Asko: 75 Years of Scandinavian Design & Quality
The story begins in 1950 in Vara, Sweden. Karl-Erik Andersson, a young farmer, watched his mother washing clothes by hand -- hard, cold, heavy work. He decided to design and build a washing machine to ease her burden. The result was remarkable: superior cleaning performance, built-in water heating, spinning capability, and durable stainless steel construction.
When others saw his machine, they wanted one. Production began at Junga (meaning "workshop" in Swedish). By 1958, Asko introduced a top-loading semi-automatic model. In 1965, the company released the fully automatic front-loading washing machine and compact dishwasher -- both innovations for their time.
Asko expanded into ovens, cooktops, and refrigerators over decades. In 1984, the company introduced Quattro Construction™ -- four shock absorbers with no springs, plus a direct-connecting door that doesn't move relative to the outer drum. This design reduces vibration and noise while extending machine lifespan. In 1988, Asko became the first brand to introduce the fully electronic dishwasher.
Today, Asko is owned by Hisense (a Chinese manufacturer). Manufacturing is in Slovenia, while management and product development remain in Lidköping, Sweden. The brand remains committed to energy efficiency, environmental responsibility, and Scandinavian design principles: functional, minimalistic, and built to last.

Common Asko Problems

Our Solution for Asko Appliances
National Appliance Repairs brings expertise with Scandinavian engineering. We understand Asko's Quattro Construction™ shock absorber design and how Steel Seal™ technology differs from traditional rubber seals. We know the Super Cleaning System™ in dishwashers and how mineral deposits affect performance.
We source genuine Asko parts including pumps, motors, shock absorbers, seals, gaskets, and control boards. For specialized components, we work with suppliers to source parts quickly.
Asko appliances are built to be serviceable. Repairs don't require days. A drain pump swap takes an hour. A shock absorber replacement takes two to three hours. We work efficiently without cutting corners.

FAQS
Answers to Your Repair Questions
How long does an Asko appliance repair typically take?
Most repairs -- pump replacement, shock absorber swap, gasket change, control board replacement -- take 1 to 4 hours. More complex work may take half a day.
Can you repair older Asko models?
Yes. Asko's manufacturing has been consistent across decades. Even vintage models share repair principles with current units. Parts availability is good.
What's the cost difference between repair and replacement for Asko?
For appliances under 10 years old, repair is almost always more cost-effective. A $300--$500 repair versus a $1,500--$2,500 replacement is an easy call.
Are Asko parts expensive?
Asko parts are moderately priced. A pump costs $200--$400. Shock absorbers cost $150--$300. Compared to replacement appliance costs, repair is always more affordable.
How long should an Asko appliance last?
Properly maintained, 12--18 years for dishwashers and washing machines. Asko machines are built for longevity. The stainless steel construction and Quattro design mean components are replaceable without replacing the whole unit.
Why is my Asko washing machine vibrating?
Worn shock absorbers, foreign object in the drum, or imbalanced load. Asko's four shock absorbers wear gradually over years. They're replaceable, and the fix restores quiet operation.
What if my Asko appliance is still under warranty?
Contact Asko or your retailer. Manufacturer warranty covers defects. Our warranty covers work beyond the original coverage period.
Can I service my Asko myself?
Some maintenance -- cleaning filters, checking hoses for cracks, inspecting door seals -- you can do. But internal repairs require specialized tools and expertise. We recommend professional service.
