About Fagor Pressure Cookers

Fagor: European Engineering for Fast Cooking

Fagor is a European manufacturer of pressure cookers designed for reliability and safety. The Duo series is one of the most popular pressure cooker lines available in Australia. The cookers are manufactured in top-quality 18/10 stainless steel and feature multiple safety systems including automatic lid lock, pressure release valve, and overheating protection.

Fagor pressure cookers use an induction-compatible "Impaksteel" base for even heat distribution. The lids are interchangeable across different pot sizes, allowing flexibility in cookware. Most Fagor cookers offer two pressure levels -- fast (8.7 psi) and super-fast (14.5 psi) -- for different cooking needs.

Fagor cookers are built to last. But seals degrade, valves stick, and pressure can be lost. When a pressure cooker stops working properly, it needs expert diagnosis to restore safe operation.

Our Solution: Fagor Pressure Cooker Repair That Works

You call because your Fagor pressure cooker isn't working properly. It won't build pressure, won't release pressure, or is leaking steam. Cooking that should take 20 minutes takes an hour.

You tell us which Fagor size you have and what's happening. Won't it pressurize? Is the lid stuck? We ask about the cooker's age and use. Then we schedule a time to assess it.

Our technician inspects the cooker methodically. They check the gasket for degradation. They test the pressure valve. They verify that the lid closes and locks properly. They check the vent pipe for blockage. If the gasket needs replacement, it's usually a quick fix. If the valve is stuck, we carefully work to free it.

Most Fagor pressure cooker repairs can be completed same-day. We use genuine Fagor gaskets or approved equivalents that meet safety specification. Your repair is backed by a 12-month parts warranty and 3-month labour warranty.

FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions About Fagor Pressure Cooker Repair

How often should the Fagor gasket be replaced?

Gaskets degrade with age and use. Replacing every 2--3 years is practical maintenance. A worn gasket is the most common cause of pressure loss.

Can you repair a Fagor cooker if the pressure valve is stuck?

Yes. The valve can become stuck from mineral buildup or rust. We carefully free it and clean it. If it's damaged beyond freeing, replacement is needed.

What causes a Fagor lid to be difficult to open after cooking?

Usually the gasket has swollen or stuck slightly to the pot rim. As the cooker cools, pressure equalizes and the lid becomes easier to open. We can help release a stuck lid without damage.

Are Fagor replacement parts available in Australia?

Fagor is no longer manufacturing, but gaskets and some parts are available from specialty retailers. Common replacement gaskets can be sourced online. We can help source the right parts for your model.

Can you repair a Fagor cooker that's leaking steam from the lid?

Yes. Steam leaks usually mean the gasket has degraded. We replace the gasket, which solves the problem in most cases.
