Expert Brisbane Freezer Repairs by National Appliance Repairs

Has your freezer started to act up? Don’t let your frozen goods go to waste; our prompt and efficient service will take care of any issue before your ice cream melts!

It goes without saying that freezers are essential appliances in any household, but they can occasionally run into complex problems that require a technician’s attention. If you’re encountering any of these issues with your freezer, don’t hesitate to call us right away:

  • Not Cooling Properly: One of our most frequent callouts is due to the freezer not maintaining the desired temperature. This could be due to a variety of issues including a faulty thermostat, inadequate air flow, or a failing compressor.
  • Frost Build-Up: Excessive frost build-up can occur if the door seals are weak or damaged, or if the defrost system is malfunctioning. This can reduce the efficiency of the freezer and lead to cooling issues.
  • Noisy Operation: Unusual noises coming from your freezer can be due to a malfunctioning evaporator fan, a loose component, or issues with the compressor or its mounts.
  • Leaking Water: Water leaks can be caused by a clogged defrost drain, a faulty seal, or issues with the ice maker unit in freezers that have one.
  • Freezer Stops Working Entirely: A complete shutdown could be due to electrical issues, such as tripped circuit breakers, worn out fuses, or problems with the freezer’s electronic control board.
  • Icing on Refrigerator Side: In freezer-refrigerator combos, improper temperature regulation can cause ice to form on the refrigerator side, often due to a blocked airflow or faulty damper control.
  • Ice Maker Malfunctions: Problems with ice makers are common and can range from failing to make ice to producing odd-shaped or cloudy ice. This could be due to issues with the water inlet valve, the ice-making mechanism, or the water filter.

Any of these issues usually require inspecting and potentially replacing or repairing components like seals, fans, compressors, and electronic controls. Rest assured, our qualified and experienced technicians are up to the challenge, and we’re available 24/7 to fix your freezer anywhere in Brisbane without delay.

Frequently asked questions.

The general minimum cost for a service call is  $180 including GST when needing your appliance repaired. At National Appliance Repairs, our service call is $198 including GST this includes the first 30min of labor, after the first 30min of labor we charge $49 every 15min plus the cost of any spare parts if required.

Usually, it is much cheaper to repair your appliance than replace. But it depends on the damage to your appliance, the time it takes to repair as well as the parts needed. In some cases, it may be more affordable for you to replace your appliance rather than get it repaired.

But generally, you can expect it to be cheaper to repair your appliance and we estimate it to be 5 – 10% cheaper.

Some examples of how much it would cost to repair an appliance are:

  • Washing machine not draining water . This will usually be a blockage and will usually take 30min to repairs thus $154.00 plus the cost of a new drain pump will be $125.00
  • Oven not heating, service call $154.00 plus replacement element will cost $121.00
  • Fridge not cooling, service call $154.00 plus evaporator fan motor will cost $145.00

When figuring out how long it can take to repair an appliance, it depends on a range of factors such as the appliance itself, the damage done and whether spare parts are needed.

Generally, we hold a large variety of parts in our vans so getting your appliance up and running on the day has a high chance. However, if the part is not on hand or not in stock, you can expect to wait for 3 to 5 days or 7 to 10 business days.

But generally, you can expect it to be cheaper to repair your appliance and we estimate it to be 5 – 10% cheaper.

Some examples of how much it would cost (including GST) to repair an appliance are:

  • Washing machine not draining water . This will usually be a blockage and will usually take 30min to repairs thus $198.00 plus the cost of a new drain pump will be $125.00
  • Oven not heating, service call $198.00 plus replacement element will cost $121.00
  • Fridge not cooling, service call $198.00 plus evaporator fan motor will cost $145.00

Again this depends on a range of factors from the appliance itself to what sort of damaged has occurred.

For example, a commercial dishwasher not draining can cost you $286 plus the cost of a drain pump will set you back $396. If your fridge is not cooling, the service call would be around $286 plus the replacement of an evaporator fan motor would cost $345.
